Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh came into existence under Punjab Govt’s Desh Bhagat University Act. The university derives its spirit of foundation from freedom fighter Sr. Lal Singh Ji; who fought for the independence of India and in 1972 his efforts of social work & his services in the freedom struggle were recognized by awarding him with “Tamra Patra” by Govt. of India, hence the name Desh Bhagat was contemplated. DBU has been established with the mission of pursuing excellence in higher education as envisioned by Sr. Lal Singh Ji.
The university's campus is at Mandigobindgarh, Punjab - India. The University has been established with the lofty mission of pursuing excellence in higher education by providing the young students a distinct and unique combination of academic, professional and personal development.
The various courses taught in the university include Agriculture Sciences, Airlines, Animation, Applied Sciences, Art & Craft, Ayurveda, Fashion Technology, Commerce, Computer Sciences, Education, Engineering, Airlines Tourism and Hospitality Management, Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Languages, Law, Management, Nursing, Dentistry and Social Sciences. Located in a totally pollution free environment, the university has a sprawling campus with state-of-the-art infrastructure including lush green Wi-Fi Campus, AC Class Rooms equipped with latest teaching aids, computer labs having latest model computers, well-stocked digital libraries, hostels for boys & girls with all modern facilities, seminar/conference halls, playgrounds and its own fleet of buses to transport students from different places.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria for all courses

• The general eligibility criteria to get admission into the undergraduate programs offered at DBU says that you need to complete your 10+2 in the respective subject or any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks, from a recognized board/university.
• For the postgraduate program the candidate needs to complete their graduation in any discipline or the respective subject from a recognized board/university with a minimum of 55-60% marks.

Note: Aspirants are advised to thoroughly go through the eligibility criteria as mentioned by the university, for the course specific details.

Admission Process for all courses  

• The admissions to various undergraduate and post graduate courses are conducted on the basis of the merits scored in the qualifying examination.
• Also, the merit scored in the entrance examination is the basis of your admission, so it is the initial step while seeking admission at the DBU.
• Once qualified, the candidature will be taken forward with the list of names who’s qualified the eligibility criteria and also the entrance examination for the respective course and will now appear for the interview.

Application Process

• The candidates need to fill an online application form for the courses they need to apply for.
• Aspirants can pay the application fee by Credit Card/Debit Card/Net banking/E-Challan. In case of E-Challan the application fee can be paid in any branch of Indian Bank.

Admission Process for Foreign Nationals

DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED WITH THE APPLICATION:

• Certified copies of all your previous qualifications (e.g. academic transcripts, grading system descriptions and award certificates).
• Scanned copy / certified copy of passport
• English language entry requirements such as academic IELTS and TOEFL. (If available)
• Supplementary information documents (if applicable).
• Evidence of change of name (if applicable).

CERTIFIED DOCUMENTS

Signatures on certified copies of transcript(s) and award certificate(s) must be dated and accompanied by an ink imprint stamp/chop from the following accepted authorities: 

• An authorised DBU representative
• DBU International staff member
• A person of authority at the issuing institution (e.g. registrar)
• Any notary public.

Application Process:-
Application fee US$ 50 or Rs. 2500 through wire transfer in our account.
Rest of the application process is same as for National Candidates.

Scholarships:-

Scholarship 1

• Scholarship is provided by the university from Aasra and Satguru foundations for the candidate to provide liberal financial help, keeping in view their needs and performance.

Scholarship is also provided under Freedom Fighters Quota, Sportsmen Quota Freedom Fighters Quota, and SC, ST, BC, OBC and other minority students as per notifications of Punjab Government, Central Government, other statutory bodies and NGO's from time to time.

Scholarship 2

• Shakti Scholarship Scheme- This scholarship is provided to girls candidate on the merit basis by the university.
