Welcome To Gazi Medical College & Hospital, Khulna,Dhaka

The College

Gazi Medical College & Hospital, situated at A 19-21, Mazid Sarani, Sonadanga, Khulna, Bangladesh which is established in 2011 and offering the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree under Rajshahi University and Rajshahi Medical University, Bangladesh.

Curriculum

Curriculum adopted by the Faculty of Medicine, University of Rajshahi and Rajshahi Medical University which is approved by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council.

Academic Year

Acadic year is generally started from January to December each year (changeable).

Affiliation

This college is approved by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and affiliated with the Rajshahi University and Rajshahi Medical University. Degree is awarded under the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh.

Class Hour

8:30 am to 3:30 pm. For students on clinical studies, two hours clinical teaching helds in the evening at Gazi Medical College Hospital.

Library

It has a modern library with a quite good number of medical books and journals. Library hour is from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm on all working days.

Classrooms

There are modern classrooms in the college with audio-visual equipment and adequate laboratory facilities in all departments

Computer Laboratory

College has a rich modern computer laboratory with good numbers of computers & high speed internet service for teachers and students.

Status of Various Departments

All the departments of the college are well-equipped and the teaching staffs are experienced, potential and highly qualified. The teachers believe in quality education and they endeavor to maintain the standard of education.

Dissection Facility

A well-furnished spacious dissection hall exists in the college with all dissection instruments. A well-equipped morgue is available adjacent to the dissection hall.

Canteen Facilities

A well-furnished canteen has established in which various food stuffs and beverage facilities is available on payment. Lunch and dinner is also available there.Foreign cooks are available for cooking Indian foods.

Student's Welfare Committee

To look after welfare of the students, this committee has been working. The committee comprising of teachers and students who organize annual games and sports including cultural activities.

Student's Advisory Council

The members of this council have been entrusted to advise on the student's individual/academic/extra academic problems. Any student may approach to this council for advice. Mainly this council guides the students regarding their academic studies and the matters related to professional courses. This committee consists of teachers of this college.

Annual Sports and Cultural week

The annual sports and cultural week is observed in every year in the college. The competitions are generally conducted in the college premises and finally the prize giving ceremony is arranged in our auditorium where usually the high dignitaries, elites, intellectuals attends. The brilliant students for their merit or outstanding performance are honored by awarding medals/crests/certificates in a formal ceremony as recognition of their achievements.

Hospital

A 500 bedded hospital is fully equipped with departments of Medicine, Surgery, Obstertics & Gynecology, Cardiology with CCU, Eye, ENT, Anaesthesilogy, Radiology & Imaging, Pathology, Skin & VD, Paediatrics with Neonatology, Physiotherapy, Outpatient Department and Emergency Department.

Teachers-Guardians Meeting

Academic Council and Guardians have a meeting once in every six months. They will discuss on all aspects of academic matters of the college and suggest measures for improving the academic environment.

College Discipline

Students must observe strict discipline in the college. On disciplinary grounds penalties may be imposed which will be recorded in the student's transcript testimonial.
