About Us

Introduction

Inspired by the noble cause of education and with a philanthropic zeal, a group of twenty-two like-minded industrialists of Kolkata established Kalyan Bharti Trust (KBT), a public charitable foundation, to promote and provide higher education in the country and in the State of West Bengal, in particular.
The vision of the founders of Kalyan Bharti Trust, ‘to prepare dynamic and caring citizens to meet the challenges of global society while retaining their traditional values’, has found its tangible reality in the provision of educational opportunities for a broad spectrum of learners - from the Primary to the Tertiary levels.
The six wings of the Trust - The Heritage School (THS), Heritage Institute of Technology (HIT-K) , The Heritage Academy (THA) , Heritage Business School (HBS) ,Heritage Law College (HLC) & The Heritage College (THC) together constitute an oasis of learning and have, over the years, carved a niche for themselves among academicians, faculty, students and society, in general.
A harmonious integration of valued traditions with modern outlook is the guiding principle behind the development of the academic environment that constitutes the basic philosophy of these six educational initiatives of Kalyan Bharti Trust.

Besides these educational initiatives, Kalyan Bharti Trust carries out its social responsibilities through SURYAKIRAN & KALYANI. ‘Suryakiran’ is engaged in spreading education to the disadvantaged children of the neighbourhood, while ‘Kalyani’, a charitable health-care centre, provides basic medical facilities to the poor & needy.
The Trust has plans to set up a Medical College, an Institute of Design and finally, a Private University in the near future.

Highlights

Heritage Institute of Technology (HIT) was established in 2001 and is located at Kolkata, West Bengal. Heritage Institute of Technology is an autonomous institute which is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), which was formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT). The institute is accredited by NAAC and NBA and is approved by the AICTE.

Application Process 2023

To apply for admission at Heritage Institute of Technology, the candidates can apply online through the official website (http://www.heritageit.edu). The step-by-step procedure for the same is outlined below:

Candidates need to submit the following self-attested documents while filling the Heritage Institute of Technology form in online mode:

• Provisional admission letter issued by the WBJEE Board (two copies)
• Allotment letter along with money receipt issued by PGET Board, MAKAUT 
• Income certificate (for students admitted under Tuition Fee Waiver category)
• PGET 2020 admit card/ rank card
• GATE scorecard
• Caste certificate (compulsory for SC/ ST/ OBC students)
• Class 10 and 12 marksheets
• Character certificate (from the school/college last attended)
• Adhaar card

The training and placement cell of Heritage Institute of Technology conducts value-added programme with the objective of making its students job-ready in the corporate world. Scholarship

Scholarship for B.Tech. 1st year under WBFS
Eligibility:

a) Merit Rank in State Level/ National Level Entrance Examination.
b) Candidate must be domicile of the West Bengal.
c) Annual Family Income of the candidate must not be more than Rs. 2.50 Lakhs.
d) Candidates selected under Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) Scheme of all India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) or West Bengal Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Scheme will not be eligible under this WBFS.

With the help of Calcutta Club Ltd. Centenary Scholarship Fund, Heritage Institute of Technology offers scholarships to the students who are pursuing B.Tech and belong to economically weaker families. The eligibility criteria to apply for this scholarship is given below:

• The annual income of parents of the students must be less than Rs 84,000 per annum
• Preference shall be given to the students belonging to physically challenged categories
• The students must not be in receipt of any other scholarship at the time of application and also should not accept any other scholarship as a financial help to pursue the course
