Introduction

Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) is a premier institute of science and technology established in 2008. Admission Procedure

IIT Hyderabad admission offers UG, PG and PhD levels in the following streams of Engineering, design, sciences & arts. Admission to the UG, PG and PhD courses is based on exams like JEE Advanced, GATE,  IIT-JAM, UCEED, CEED, COAP and written tests followed by a personal interview. JEE Advanced registration to begin on 7th August 2022 and can register online on the JEE official website.

IIT Hyderabad admission offers various courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels across several disciplines like engineering, design, sciences & arts. Entrance Exams 2023

IIT Hyderabad admission intake is based on the score obtained by the candidate in various qualifying examinations like JEE Advanced, GATE,  IIT-JAM, UCEED, CEED, and COAP. The seats in IIT Hyderabad are allocated based on the eligibility criteria and scores obtained in competitive exams.

• For B.Tech the candidates are selected and chosen for counselling. During counselling, the candidates are selected based on the availability of seats, the number of applicants, and the reservation category.
• For B. Des candidates must have a valid score in the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED), conducted by IITs. 
• For M.Tech candidates need to appear for GATE. IIT Hyderabad will offer admission through COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal).

PG Eligibility Criteria

• For M.Tech candidates should have a degree in BE/ B.Tech or M.Sc with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognised university. They must have a qualified GATE with a valid rank.
• For M.Des candidates are expected to have a minimum aggregate score of 55% (50% for SC/ ST categories) in qualifying examinations such as the CEED exam.
• For MA, M.Sc candidates must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognised university, in any discipline, with a minimum of 50% marks.

PhD Admission 2023

IITH PhD admission states that a candidate with a GATE score is offered direct admission for a PhD. However, if a candidate has not appeared for GATE, the institute conducts its entrance exam for IIT Hyderabad PhD admission. The Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad has a joint PhD program with Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. All first-year PhD students are eligible for admission to the cooperative PhD program. Under this program, the selected students get to spend one year at SUT doing research. PhD Eligibility Criteria

International Placement Offers

Every year various international companies participate in IITH recruitment drives to recruit their students. In 2019, IIT Hyderabad received 38 placement offers from 15 companies whereas 2020 witnessed 30 offers from 8 companies. During 2021 IITH placements, the number of international offers stood at 31. Companies from Japan alone offered 26 placements offers and 26 internship offers. 

Scholarship

IIT Hyderabad offers scholarships to students based on their academic performance and financial conditions. Candidates must meet the eligibility conditions set by the colleges to avail of financial aid. Further details about the Indian IIT Hyderabad scholarship are mentioned below.

Merit-cum-Means

• The students belonging to GEN, GEN-EWS / OBC category can apply for the scholarship.
• The parental income shall not exceed Rs. 4.5 lakhs for any category.
• Income tax return with acknowledgement from IT Department has to be submitted as income proof of parents (Father and Mother or Guardian if any)
• The total number of students awarded MCM scholarships is limited to 25% of class strength.
• The student must have 7.0 and above SGPA / CGPA with no active backlogs (fail grade) in any courses (including additional courses).
• The shortlisted students are offered Rs.1,000 per month.

ST and SC Scholarship

• Students belonging to SC / ST category can apply for the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad scholarship.
• Parental income must not exceed Rs. 4.5 lakhs for any category.
• The income tax return with acknowledgement from IT Department has to be submitted as Income proof of parents (father and mother or guardian if any)
• There is no ceiling on the award of SC or ST scholarship subject to fulfilling the required criteria.
• The student who has secured  SGPA / CGPA of 7.0 and above with no active backlogs in any courses (including additional courses).
• The shortlisted students are offered Rs.250 per month and are eligible for a refund of licence fee and dining charges at actuals and as per the eligibility.
